Dionna Eley

Dionna Eley is a 19-year-old sophomore who attends the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She is currently working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Science. Nursing was the expected educational path for Dionna when she graduated from high school.

However, she also enjoyed playing basketball for the majority of her life. So she decided to pursue a Sports Science degree that will allow her to continue to be involved in sports as well as serve in the medical profession. Since she’s always been interested in medicine and helping others this degree is a great opportunity for Dionna to turn her passions into a future career.

As a college student Dionna has learned that life has its ups and downs. She says, “but when things are down God is always looking out for me.” This young lady’s faith is strong and it’s clear she understands where the source of her strength comes from. Dionna believes that her relationship with God has become stronger since starting college. Talking to God is part of her daily routine — while driving to school or just in general at times – she knows He is always listening. It’s clear that Dionna understands Matthew 6:33, which says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” She says, “I know that I’m always going to need God in my life and to put him first.”

She has plans for her future and she has not left God out of her plans. Those plans include strengthening her relationship with the Lord, graduating from college with a Bachelor or Arts degree in Sports Science and possibly pursuing a Masters Degree.

Dionna hopes to make a difference in the lives of athletes by curing injuries and helping them get better so they can continue playing the sports they love. Dionna Eley is a wonderful example of how a Godly young lady lives her life and pursues her dreams. She recognizes that even though God’s favor is on her, she must do her part. She says, “life is what you make of it, so live it to the fullest.” She will no doubt be a blessing to many as God continues to direct her path.
