Dr. Samuel Smith, Jr., is a native Stocktonian who, by the grace of God, is a servant of the people where he met the Lord. Dr. Smith was Licensed and Ordained by his pastor, the late Dr. Henry F. Dean, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Dr. Smith is a well-respected, gifted man of God who preaches an uncompromising gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has faithfully led the people of God at the Emmanuel Baptist Church for 30 years.
The gospel message is simple: “That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4).
Emmanuel Baptist Church is located in the City of Stockton, California. The City has a population of approximately 319,000 people in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. The church was founded in April of 1926 by the late Rev. Henry Potts. The church is currently 99 years old, and in those 99 years, the church has only had five (5) pastors. The pastors have a long and solid history with the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Community of Stockton.
